Welcome to Mimitoys, the Irish online department store for children, where we are passionate about play. I am Mimi, a French mother of four, who decided to set up Mimitoys in June 2004 with my husband Myles. The inspiration for our business came from the absence of readily available good quality wooden toys that were fun and educational for babies, toddlers and preschool children in Ireland.
Since then we have broadened our scope to provide many more creative and engaging online toys for a much wider age range and now we also provide stylish and practical furniture ranges for your childrens bedroom. All available to browse at your leisure either online or within our catalogue . All orders ready to be packed and delivered to your door.
Every parent wants to help their child develop and grow and we at Mimitoys hope to contribute by offering original toys and inspiring activities. Some of our toys are traditional and familiar from your own childhood, others are more innovative, but all reflect our ambition to create a fun and stimulating way for kids to learn. We avoid heavily branded or advertised toys and weapon-look-alikes are an absolute no-no for us.
Through pretend play with dolls houses, play kitchens, construction toys and train sets, your children explore the boundaries of their imagination whilst learning to appreciate and respect the needs of others. Arts and crafts, books and puzzles are wonderful tools to awaken your kids curiosity about the world around them and help them acquire new skills. To assist you in making your choices from our toy store, we have set out symbols within our product descriptions to show where we think a toy promotes a particular learning skill. I also pass on any play tips I have found out about each toy- these tips could come from other parents or from my own experience of playing with my children. I would like to encourage parents to add to the information we provide by giving us feedback and reviewing our products so we can continue to improve and refine our range.

The focus of most Mimitoys activity is at our office in Derryclare, Summerhill, Co Meath where our company is based, and it is here that you will find most of the Mimitoys team.
We have of course Mimi and her husband Myles who are always on hand to answer queries and give product advice on the phone or in person at the toy shop. As the proud parents of 4 young children, their family has put many products through the mill and certainly has helped to identify those that are not as sturdy as they should be! Throughout the website, you will find Mimis personal recommendations and ideas for ways to play. Julie works quietly behind the scenes, helping to update our website and articles and playing with the toys when nobody is looking all in the name of research. She too has a young family with raised expectations of better birthday presents.
Franck is the man behind the product images you see on our online furniture and toy shop and toy mail order catalogue. He is both the photographer and the graphic designer. He is the doting Dad of a very lively 3 year old boy.

Mimitoys Warehouse
Everything you see on our website is held in stock at our warehouse, ready to be picked off the shelves by our team and carefully packed for despatch. Where possible, we use recycled packaging, often re-using suppliers boxes and packing materials, and we try to keep packaging waste to an absolute minimum.

We take the time to visit toy fairs regularly and undertake painstaking research to ensure that we offer you an up-to-date and exciting range of toys. Our toys are selected to be fun, entertaining and educational for your child, but we also care deeply about the standard and ethics of labour and materials used in the construction of our toys.
All our toys conform to strict European safety standards and bear the CE or BS (British Standard) mark.
We select our suppliers carefully, and have made sure that they all have signed anti-child labour codes of practice.
How to Order
Mimitoys Order Process
Online
Enjoy having a good browse through our furniture and toy website and when you have finished adding products to your shopping cart, click "Proceed to Checkout". You will be shown a screen that summarises the items you wish to purchase. At this point you can change your selection by adding or removing products. You will then be asked to proceed to payment, entering the Realex security zone. When you finish filling out your card details (Laser or Credit Cards) a screen will pop up informing you that the transaction has completed successfully. We then send you a confirmation email.
When filling out your credit card information you will be asked for the card security code (also referred to as the CV2 or verification value). This is a number added to credit and debit cards in order to verify that you are holding the payment card being used and is found on the signature strip on the back of the card. The code you need is the final 3 digits of this number.
